Chapter 13 bankruptcy, often called a "wage earner" bankruptcy, can help you prevent home foreclosure and rebuild your financial well-being. In this type of bankruptcy, a three to five-year repayment plan is developed by the bankruptcy court, based on what you can afford to pay. At the end of the plan, your debts are paid off.
As a bankruptcy lawyer, I have been helping people qualify for and file personal bankruptcy since 1988, and I am here to help you.
Call me today at (206) 633-2517 for your free phone consultation. I answer my own phone on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Or, contact me by e-mail and I will get in touch with you promptly.
If you do not qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 13 bankruptcy can still help you get debt relief.
In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, the court sets up a three to five-year repayment plan for you based on what you can afford to pay. The standards for how much you can pay do allow you to live a decent life. Your creditors cannot reject the plan as not good enough. They can't charge you interest or harass you in any way.
When your Chapter 13 repayment plan is complete, the debt is legally paid off. None of your creditors can claim that you still owe them money from before the bankruptcy.
